FLATBED TRAILER BUILD
PAGE 1
This is the 3" Tubing
and 3" Channel that
I plan on using, I was
originally going to use this
steel to build a Teardrop
but I decided it was a little
heavier then I needed.
This picture is showing
how the notched tubing
will fit into the channel
doing it this way will
make the top surface
of the frame all flush.
This picture shows a
3500lb Axle that was off
of a trailer that I found out
in the desert the front of
the trailer looked like a
pretzel so I took it home &
cannibalized it,but this
Axel is to short so I plan
on cleaning up the springs
& hubs & use them.
Here is a the hub that
we plan on using with
the Dexter Axle, I have
not cleaned it up or
painted it yet.
Her is some angle Iorn
that will be used for
the side rails.
And the tubing is for
one of my Teardrop
Builds.
Picked up some new
tires and rims.
WELL IT IS TIME TO
TRAILER ON TO PAGE 2
Here I notched
the tubing that will
be used for the center
trusses of the trailer.
Here is a picture of the
3500lb Dexter Axle that
will be used on this trailer.
This Axle has brake
hub plates & wires in the
Axle so a brake set up
would be real easy to
install, But there will be
no brakes on this trailer.
Also there will be a new
bearings installed
Here I laid some iorn out
just To get an idea how it
will look. (Rain in Vegas!)
It happens,But Not very
often.
Here it's hard to see but
we snapped some lines &
made sure that they we're
square then I took a
marker & about every 4' I
traced the line & on the
corners, Just encase the
rain returned.
These lines will be used to
lay out the frame.
